Change fatigue, change lethargy, and burnout are real feelings that can significantly decrease employee motivation, engagement, and productivity. These feelings impact employees' quality of life, the quality of their work, and their interactions with customers. Ultimately, these are risks to a company’s brand, profitability, and sustainability.
Like many adversities, the first thing we need to do is recognize and acknowledge them. Only then can we begin to address them.
The good news? With a bit of intentionality, good old-fashioned listening, and some of our favorite tips, you can counter change fatigue and burnout and bring people back into a happier, more harmonious space.

Change management sometimes includes training, sometimes not, depending on the company or function or project. In general, if change management isn't "in charge" of training, it at least needs to be aware of and liaising well with the people leading training. This goes along with:

Getting change right is so important for organizations today. Yet change is hard in large part because it usually involves lots of different people, who might have different perspectives and goals and needs, not to mention anything about different levels of internal motivation or ability to change.
Unfortunately, not everyone will be onboard with what’s needed and may resist your efforts to help them walk through that change journey. Some may even hamper or sandbag your efforts, which can cripple your overall success and demoralize others.
Today we’ll be talking about ways to overcome that resistance to change.

Welcome to our SECOND podcast (we’re still going strong!). Last time, we talked about a few reasons WHY organizations might want to or need to change. Today, we’re talking about why that change can be so hard, and what you can do to make it a little easier for everyone. The Harmonious Workplaces Podcast was started by two independent consultants, Rich Cruz and Ben Kleinman, to explore, challenge, and build on various organizational culture and change management concepts. It’s a blend of theory and practice based on their personal and professional experiences working with companies of all sizes across various industries. If you own a business, lead a team, want new ideas about the corporate environment, or just want to listen to two guys talking about how to make work more enjoyable, we invite you to sit back, relax and dive in with us to Harmonious Workplaces.
